I'm afraid that the Haitiano/Dominican issues are far more than a problem of the poor vs the poorer as you had suggested it. & there should be no comparison to relations in those north American countries. They are irrelevant. But Let me remind you that inspite of all the known animosities toward little Mexicans in the States, there isn't a history between the two nations reminding people that, once, Mexican descents who were already living in the now known US territories, acquired either by cessession or after the Mexican wars, were slaughtered by an American mad man head of state because of their skin colour, or nationality.
Greg, you're right man. Unfortunately a whole lotta Haitians are still living in lala land by thinking the vast majority of Dominicans even consider them as human beings.
I hate to say this but this so obvious self neglect is something that is entreched into the Haitian psyche, to a point it is well noticeable by others.
Raoul yours is the types of thinking rationel that is fueling that hatred between the two nations rather than taking a good look at ongoing problems between HAITIANS & DOMINICANS, oftentimes iniciated by DOMINICANS, & try to think of a potential solution toward these ever ending finger pointings from Dominicans toward Haitians.
You do not solve a proplem by pretending it does not exists, or by simply ignoring it existence.
I think that the fact that haitian and dominican share the same island I think that it is silly to dislike a group of people based on there culture.
Considering the fact that most dominican are of african descent i really hope that color or background doesn't have anything to do with it. but on a different note, I love you T-Vice !!!! and I wish I could be at the show. I am a proud Haitian-American and I wouldn't change that for anything in the world.
If you read what I wrote carefully, you will see that my comment was not negative.
I am speaking the truth and it is very well documented FACT that Dominicans do not like Haitians in general.
Well who care what dominicans think?
It's a Haitian party, I am Haiti, Tengo Dinero, I am
It was totally unnecessary to even bring up that 'Dominicans usually do not like Haitians'.
As a Haitian, do YOU like Dominicans, and what was the last thing you did to try to bring the 2 people together?
Dominicans usually do not like Haitians.
I heard about Kompa groups performing in DR but never attended any Haitian events in DR. I will go to check it out. I am curious to see if Dominicans will attend.
