"Crazy Love" Character and Casting Information

LEAD CHARACTERS:

Noah LaGuerre: Good looking Caribbean/Haitian male early 20's, brooding artistic type plays the guitar and sings a little.
Arielle LeRoie: Attractive Caribbean female early 20's. She looks blessed and innocent with plenty of sex appeal.

MAIN CHARACTERS:

Taz: Attractive black male early to mid 20's. Noah's best friend and confidant. This character is sexually promiscuous.
Thierry: Young Male early 20's. Noah's cousin and the voice of reason.
Blanc: Young White Male early to mid 20's with an indefinable character. Blanc plays outsider.
Max: Arielle's best girl friend and polar opposite. She is confident, brass, sassy and flamboyant.
Jet: Noah's antagonist, physically fit and always on edge. Early to mid 20's.
Rodrigue Barbancourt: Arielle's chosen suitor. He is handsome, charismatic and well-to-do.

About the Story:

Crazy Love is multi-cultural/Haitian-American film loosely base on the classic tragedy of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. It's the story of two political exiled families, the LaGuerre and the LeRoie, once joined by idealism and prosperity for a better country, Haiti, and is now separated by misguided deeds and goals. Lives are destroyed in the families' quest for power. From these feuding families, a son (Noah) and daughter (Arielle) are destined to fall in love, Crazy Love, and share an unfortunate fate. Their misgivings bring their familial grudge to an end.

About the Filmmaker:

Born in Haiti raised in Fort Lauderdale, Willys Michel, is a graduate of Florida State University School of Communication. He commenced his cinematic career as a production coordinator with the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. Shortly thereafter, he ventured to New York to broaden his expertise. Willys' production resume included affiliation with: the Hudlin Brothers, The Black Filmmakers Foundation, Private Screenings, Inc., and TV Interactive.

Mr. Michel has been associated with a number of award winning television projects. He's worked with the production team that launched such programs as: .com with Mark Hammil, Healthy Solutions with Mariette Hartley, Women in Charge with Nancy Glass and Elegance with Ivana Trump. He was also instrumental in the creating The Alternative: an innovative program created to entertain, inform and empower the disenfranchise community.

In the past years, the filmmaker has produced 0-75: Life, Death and Bingo. He recently directed The Tip for a cooperative in Miami. Crazy Love is slated to be the filmmaker's feature directorial debut.

The Purpose of this Project:

Crazy Love is being produce for two purposes: to produce an entertaining/educational HD feature to teach young people about the diversity of south Florida and to wet their appetite for classic literature. The project is loosely based on Shakespeare's classic tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Moreover, this film is created to provide content for the international film festival market as a way of increasing the filmmakers' exposure in the industry.

Pay:

Talent will receive a small stipend with possible deferred payment. Talent will also receive a copy of the finished project and festivals screening tickets. Meals will be provided.
