The Haitian American Social and Cultural Alliance (HASCA) is pleased to invite you to its fifth annual Fundraising Dinner-Dance Gala to be held on Saturday, December 13th, 2003, from 9:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., at the luxurious Grand Ballroom of Quality Hotel Hempstead, formerly known as Best Western Hotel, and conveniently located at 80, Clinton Street in Hempstead, New York.
Your greatly appreciated patronage of our past fundraising events has allowed us to finance in its entirety the first phase of the aEoeDispensaire Notre Dame de Lourdes (DNDL)aE renovation project. The DNDL, located in CarA©nage, in the town of Cap-HaA¯tien, Haiti, is a health clinic providing comprehensive medical care to mostly underprivileged kids and adults living in the vicinity. With your help, HASCA was able to contribute over $13,000 (US) in 2002 towards the successful implementation of Phase I. Today, we are delighted to inform you that about 350 patients are being treated on a weekly basis in those newly renovated buildings of the DNDL.
This year, we are proceeding with Phase II, which entails the complete revamping of two edifices lodging respectively the medical labs and the dressing unit. Phase II works, scheduled to begin on October 23rd, 2003, are estimated to cost about $12,000.00 (US). HASCA has already disbursed $5,000.00 (US) to the DNDL administration to insure a timely inauguration of the works. Your participation at our gala will help us meet our financial commitments for a successful completion of Phase II.

We are also proud to report that on September 6th, 2003, a medical team, comprised exclusively of HASCA members, traveled to Cap-HaA¯tien and provided free primary medical care at the health clinic DNDL for one week. During that week, the medical team evaluated and treated more than 250 patients, ranging from 2 to 85 years of age. In addition, the team donated a portable electrocardiograph machine to be used at the DNDL. We encourage you to visit our web site at www.hasca.org for further details.
Finally, for the 2003-2004 academic year, HASCA has awarded full scholarships (i.e. tuition, books, lunch) for a total amount of $2,700 (US) to six (6) gifted high school students in Cap-HaA¯tien facing financial hardships.
With your contributions, we will continue to positively impact many more lives while pursuing our philanthropic agenda in Haiti. Hence, we ask again for your support this year to help us achieve those objectives, on behalf of the very many beneficiaries of these programs.
