Brooklyn, NY – November 2nd, 2008- New York Concert series in conjunction with NOCIA LLC presents a kickoff album release party for the legendary Kompa band Phantoms, at Rasputin Night club, located at 2670 Coney Island Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11235 from 7pm to 12: 00AM

Best known for their outstanding accomplishment both in the Haitian music industry and abroad, Phantom’s music can best be described as a soul sweetening blend of classic Konpa, Pop/Rock guitar, drum 'n' bass rhythmic tunes and provocative lyric concoctions, thus pioneering Konpa/Rock in their own unusual musical style while soulfully meshing English, French and Creole words

This first concert, presented by New York Concert Series will be a cross-cultural compilation of music featuring Indie Soul artist Obed Jean Louis, Belo, Jowe Omiceel, and headliner Phantom.

An after party celebrating the release of their latest LP « Oxygen » will follow the talented line-up of musical guests

Oxygen ’ is an exploration of many genres of music across the globe with a strong emphasis on the Haitian culture.

From Kompa, to Reggae, and even Hip Hop; oxygen embraces the new generation with a classic touch.

The album voices political and social issues of our times, which explains the band’s fervent activism in community and world issues such as the SOS hurricane relief concert for Haiti and their desire to donate a part of the album’s release proceeds towards Housing Works/HIV Aids Outreach program

As the largest grassroots AIDS Service Organization in the United States, Housing works provides health care for all people living with HIV/AIDS as well as fighting homelessness in the New York area.
