I'm typing this because I cannot find a site to help me rent or buy an old spanish movie called "a/the Right to Be Born", circa late 1950's or 1960's. I know it was a soap opera but I'm referring to the movie only.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME LOCATE THIS CONTROVERSIAL (FOR IT'S TIME) YET MOVING FILM?

Were you ever successful in optaining a copy of the 1967 movie White Roses for my Black Sister?

Please tell me what name the movie can be found under.
I looked everywhere, even via UK website and cannot find it. That is the only movie missing from my collection between 1960 and 1985 for the classic collections

I think we are talking about 2 different movies.
A movie was made in 1967, and was called A White Rose for my Black Sister.
I am not sure if Colette's film has anything to do with it or made off of that movie, but her title is the same. I have been trying to get a copy of the original movie for years and cannot seem to locate even the name, anywhere.
Maybe the name was changed.
If anyone knows any of the actors, actress or even the producer, maybe I can still track it back. I will continue to share the information.

I always wanted to be a part of movie activities, but I was so busy taking care of other things that i put my dream aside.
I would love to get an audition for the upcoming movie.
i believe to be a good actress, one has to have the passion for it, and be able to make your audience feels, cries, and laughs.
I sincerely believe that I have something great to offer to the public.you can also check my topics on "Racism among Haitians", and maybe you might have an idea of who I really am; Any further information I can be contacted via email.
Keep up the good work.
Hope hearing from you soon. Take care!

Hi,
This is Richard in Trinidad.
I happened upon your post and I must tell you that was one great movi, but if you are looking for it under that name you will never find it I know I was looking for it for a year bedore I found it. It goes under another name, not Imitation of Life althought that one was good also.
It was made in 1967 the year yours truely was born. The Black sister was one pretty woman an boy could she sing. She sang a song titled The World is my Home in the movie.
My whole family cried at the end. Many people here want to get their hands on this movie.
I had a woman go out and buy lunch and come back to my office to watch it because under no circumstances would I let it leave my office.
Here is my number in Trinidad if you want details 1868-353-9879

I'm also been looking for this movie for a long time. Hope we are talking about the same one. This is about a white girl who falls in love with a black guy, she then needs a heart transplant and gets it from a black lady, whom I believe was the boyfriend sister.
I saw this movie in the 70's, in Portugal where I'm from. Hope to find it.

by deverine, replying to maria Rocha on 29-Jan-09 11:18 PM
I am so relieved to know that i am not the only one who is interested in finding this movie.
I know i saw this movies in Grenada, which is where i'm from. I saw it around the late '60's or early '70. I am almost sure it was Sidney Poitier who played the role of a heart surgeon.
He was in love with a white nurse, she has a bad heart and needed a heart transplant.
There was a black nurse who was in love with him. At the end of the movie the black nurse was killed in a car accident and her heart was donated to the white nurse.
The white nurse sent a hugh bouquet of white roses to her funeral.
It seems like this movie never existed, since i can't find it anywhere.

you are so right...
White Roses for my Black Sister is found in Spanish version.
I think if we all offer a bit of what we remembered, and the actors/actress in the movie we might get somewhere.
Some one alive has to have a copy of this movie, and I am willing to pay for it.

Great minds!
I've been looking for this movie for years now. I can't believe that I'm not the only one. I too, saw it in the late 60's or early 70's, as a little girl back in Trinidad & Tobago.
It was the very first movie that I had ever seen and the ending remained with me to this day. It was very touching.
Please tell me where I can find it....
if possible the original.
