Hi, everybody,
I want to thank Woodring for his appreciation of my CD "Twoubadou Sek."
Let me say that I've been exploring Haitian music in all of its different styles--roots music or rasin, haitian folk music, haitian contemporary music, a little bit of konpa, hard voodoo jazz and soft voodoo jazz.
"Rara mwe" by Gifrants, is a modern approach of haitian roots music, and also some contemporary haitian music
"Serenade by Gifrants" is soft voodoo jazz.
"Twoubadou Sek" is a very elaborate approach of haitian folk music.
My latest band "SEGWE' plays a much more endemic approach of haitian folk music.
On my profile or bio, I mentioned "Veve", which plays a modern approach of haitian roots music.
I did release a promo with 2 songs--Canrival 2001 and "Se pa sa nou te pale".
All my projects are very danceable.
I must say that I've been playing for 20 years--All people from all nations have been dancing to my music, except my own people.
Most of them can only dance konpa.
That 's too bad.
SEGWE is very danceable if you like dancing.
It is haitian folk music at its best!
I hope to see you at those different events we are promoting.
Gifrants, bandleader of SEGWE
