wow where to start...
well I'm a white Jewish/christian male, 25 years old with a B.B.A in finance and my fiancee is a black christian Haitian woman with her B.S.A in nursing.
She is an RN and I am a personal banker.
While we have MANY differences, we have been together for 4 years now and are getting married next spring.
I'm very sorry you feel this way however love happens between two people and whatever their race, religion ETC may be, that should not matter.
Our families love one another and EVERYONE in both of our families are very supportive of our relationship.
I have felt and received nothing but love and support from her family and EVERY Haitian I have met has been very supportive of us. I speak some french and creole and they love when i converse with them in their language.
The most important thing to her family was my belief in Jesus Christ as lord and savior and how i treated her. My skin color was of NO importance.
What happened many years ago had NOTHING to do with either of us. It is unfortunate you feel that you must generalize every person of a certain race. ALL races have good men and bad men and good women and bad women.
We both love learning about our individual cultures.
Just because our skin may be different shades we all are born, grow and die the same. We all breath the same air. My question to you and all others is why does the color of one's skin matter SO much???.
what is it about two people with different skin colors that draws such debates?
slavery was a very long time before either one of us was born so why would that have ANYTHING to do with our relationships?
We live in Philadelphia and we get nothing but smiles when we go out. Now if people say things behind our backs who knows but we have never dealt with people who did not like our relationship due to the difference in our skin colors.
anyways I hope the LORD touches all those hearts who think that skin color is a barrier because we are ALL children of GOD and he does not care what skin color we are. so i pose the question once again to Lisa and all others...
what is it about two people who have different skin color being together that is so wrong?
