The French Cultural Center and PeaceTones are proud to present Wanito, winner of the Haiti Sings contest!

Created by the PeaceTones Initiative, Haiti Sings started on October 1st, 2010 on Facebook . 19 contestants were selected from over 50 open auditions and Wanito, a 22 year-old singer-songwriter from Jeremie, was voted winner by over 800 Facebook fans. He will be flown to the U.S. to record his first studio album, which will be released through PeaceTones. 90% of album sales will go directly to Wanito and his community's development goal. Come learn more about Wanito's community project and hear him play songs from his upcoming album.

The PeaceTones Initiative supports talented, unknown artists from developing nations build their careers while giving back to their communities. PeaceTones operates in several countries with three compilation albums already available for purchase online.

Members and college students with valid ID: $15
Non-members: $20

50% of proceeds from the event will go towards PeaceTones to help bringing the Haiti Sings winner to the US (including flights, visas, accommodation and studio recording). Complimentary wine and cheese will be served at the event.
