The Haitian-Americans United,Inc.(H.A.U.) presents its 10th Annual Haitian Independence Day Gala on Saturday, January 8, 2011 from 7P.M. to midnight at Lombardo's in Randolph. Mass.

The 2011 Gala will be A patriotic event to reflect on Haiti's dire conditions since the January 12, 2010 earthquake, and to acknowledge several Massachusetts dignitaries, individuals; and organizations that have made significant contributions to helping the victims and all those impacted by the January 12th tragedy.

His Excellency, former Haiti 's Ambassador to the US , Raymond Alcide Joseph, who led the first international post-earthquake relief efforts for the victims, will be the event keynote speaker and will share some reflections on Haiti 's conditions since the earthquake and discuss the issues surrounding the reconstruction.

Honorary guest, Mrs. Anne- Marthe Emmanuelle Dupiton Haiti 's Consul General in Boston will acknowledge all those who helped and continue to help Haiti amidst the catastrophe.

H.A.U., in collaboration with the Haitian-American Task Force and several other Haitian-American organizations, will acknowledge and present awards to several Massachusetts dignitaries, individuals, and organizations that have made significant contribution to helping the victims and all those impacted by the January 12th quake.

Among the awardees are: Governor Deval Patrick, Mayor Thomas M. Menino, Boston Cardinal Sean Patrick O'Malley, Bishop Gilbert Thompson of Jubilee Church, Reverend Hurmon E. Hamilton, President of the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO), the Black Ministerial Alliance of Greater Boston, Inc., the Boston Foundation, Mr. Robert Hildreth, philanthropist, Partners in Health, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the New England Human Rights for Haiti, the Haitian Mental Health Network, Mr. Dennis Riordan, Director of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS); Radio Signal FM of Haiti, 1199 SEIU, etc.

The gala will feature patriotic and artistic performances by talented groups and artists such as OAMEC Orchestra from Youth and Family Enrichment Services (YOFES), Arc-en-Ciel Dance Company, the musical Group Melanj, the Pathfinders of the Seventh Day Philadelphia Church of Malden, and young performers such as talented singer Rebecca Zama and IRNE 2009 Most Promising Child Actor in New England, Sebastien Dan Lucien, etc.
