Official Statement from Kaliko Productions

The tragic 7.0 Earthquake that affected Haiti on January 12, 2010, also halted the festivities that were planned for Saturday, January 16, 2010, the Haitian Independence Festival at Bayfront Park. The devastation led to a focus on Haiti rather than music and entertainment. As the country has slightly begun to rebuild and return to some sort of normalcy, Kaliko Productions has decided to reschedule the Independence Festival 2010 for July 3, 2010 at a new location, Central Broward Regional Park.

In the news recently there have been several developments amongst the date being changed and the conflict between having two festivals during the month of July on the same day. Respectively, Kaliko Productions and Multicultural Promotions and Entertainment have met to find a happy medium, where music lovers and fans would be in the winners circle. Therefore, coming to an accord, Independence Festival 2010 is now a shared endeavor between Kaliko Productions of Miami and Multicultural Promotions and Entertainment of Orlando.

"Building an alliance seemed much better in our eyes than creating an enemy line that wouldn't serve anyone any good," said Gerald Firmin, Kaliko Productions Founder. With all major bands already scheduled to perform in Florida, the union will bring fans from all over South and North Florida, as well as those who travel to enjoy the Independence Day weekend events in Miami's inviting back yard.

With artist like Djakout Mizik, CaRiMi, T-Vice, Disip, Rockfam, Kreyola La, Harmonik, Nu Look, Gabel, Zenglen, Mika Ben, and Tropicana excited about having the summer sun as their stage, this merger will guarantee a bigger experience for all those involved. "As our flag states, 'L'union faits la force,' and we are ready to see the outcome of working hand in hand as a first in the music industry," says Joseph Neptune, Co-Founder of Multicultural Promotions and Entertainment.
