TICKET BLOCKS

You can purchase a block of 25 + tickets through Ticketweb at www.ticketweb.com, or by calling 1-866-468-7619. Many filmmakers choose to buy blocks to give out tickets to friends and relatives who want to attend their screening. If you have questions about purchasing a block of tickets, please contact Nicole Holland at nicolefilms1@aol.com

You can either order a block of tickets through Ticketweb.com or order them through the NYIIFVF.

A. If you order through Ticketweb.com: You can purchase up to 25 tickets through Ticketweb at www.ticketweb.com, or by calling 1-866-468-7619 or you can Click on the 'TKTS' icon next to your film's title or go to Ticketweb's site at: www.ticketweb.com and type in the film title under 'search events by keyword' in the purple box reading: 'To buy tickets, start here.' If you order 25 tickets through Ticketweb, it's $300, and Ticketweb charges a $3 per ticket surcharge, equaling about $375 total.

B. If you order through the NYIIFVF:
You can order tickets through the NYIIFVF for a flat rate of $12 per ticket.
If you buy tickets through the festival we can waive the $3 per ticket surcharge that Ticketweb charges, i.e., 25 tickets through us is $300, through Ticketweb is about $375 with surcharges.

We can print your tickets and have them FedExed to you or you can pick them up at the theatre's box office

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CREATING SCREENING COPIES:

1.) Make sure if you are submitting on MiniDV to output to a master tape, available from panasonic, or excellence tape or above from sony (in other words, DO NOT output to a consumer mini dv tape. The master tapes can be purchased in any pro video shop or online)

2.)Make sure your project sound is set to 48kHz Mono or Stereo.

3.) MAKE SURE YOUR SOUND IS MIXED! The projectionist WILL NOT MIX YOUR SOUND.

4.) IMPORTANT!!! We are screening in 4:3 so if you shot your film in "squeeze mode", widescreen or 1:1.85 on some cameras and you want to retain the widescreen look, you must render the letterbox in your editing program (the black bars on top and bottom) BEFORE YOU OUTPUT. Otherwise, when projected it will look squeezed.

5.) VERY IMPORTANT!!! MAKE SURE TO WATCH AND LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE TAPE AFTER YOU HAVE OUTPUT IT. WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MISHAPS DUE TO FAULTY SOURCE MATERIAL.

ACCEPTABLE SCREENING FORMATS:
(All video formats MUST BE NTSC)
The festival will screen:

1. BetaSP NTSC (NOT Beta PAL)
2. DV CAM NTSC
3. MiniDV NTSC (Master tapes ONLY)

SPECIAL NOTE:
We require that all films be submitted with a backup copy. All copies may be picked up after the last screening of your film.

The NYIIFVF does not screen DVD because of the multiple problems with low quality or wrongly formatted DVDs that skipped and stopped during the festival screening, interrupting the screening block.

The NYIIFVF does not screen DigiBeta.

For films over 90 minutes, you can have the film split on 2 BetaSP tapes. Pick a point in the film where you can deal with having a 5 to 10 second delay. The projectionist will eject Tape 1 and then insert Tape 2 to complete the reel change. However, in this case we recommend using DV Cam which is available in longer tape formats.

Thank You,
NYIIFVF Team
