Djakout Atlanta Bal canceled last minute

Marabou7 - November 22 2005, 6:03 PM

It's always something with these Haitian bands.

I was upset with Nu Look for a long time when they were supposed to play in Georgia in 2003 and refused to leave the hotel until they were paid. I heard that this was not originally the agreement.

But anyways they showed up at 1:00am with their equipment and started setting up they started playing at 1:30 am and the bal was over around 2:15am.

And needless to say because they had just come from arguing with the promoters they did not perform as well as I know they can because they were no longer in the mood. I feel that what happened to them was not the fault of the paying public/fans and they should perform their best no matter what. This is what being a performer is all about.

It was very upsetting for the Haitian community in Atlanta, Georgia to have the Djakout Mizik bal canceled last minute yesterday.

The promoters of this event were still selling tickets up until 2pm on Saturday when it they had not yet confirmed anything.

Djakout played in Miami with Hangout at Marabou Cafe. It does not seem possible that the band would schedule 2 events on the same date. If this is the case then it is with Djakout that the masses must be upset.

If it was the fault of the promoters for not confirming or paying balances due then Cayenne Entertainment and Kaliko Productions will see a big decline in attendance at their future functions, starting with this writer.

There were people who requested days off, purchased plane tickets and rearranged various things to be present.

The truth will come out and be known!! Haitian artists need to respect the public/fans a little more. I used to always brag and say that there are 3 bands that respect their fans in regards to giving good performances and starting on time Djakout Mizik, Nu Vice, and Ti Vice now this list is down to 2.
