Carnival Dawn marks the transition from winter ceremonials to pre-vernal rites. Explore Haiti's Congo roots. Feel the magic of the beautiful healing bags called pake (pah-kay) kongo. Enjoy a visit from Queen Kongo, who cuts the rainbow cake and shares it in honor of the Three Kings. Cap these festivities by dancing to beat of the season's first Carnival band. Drumming and song arrangements by award-winning Master Drummer Frisner Augustin—"a spectacular drummer," according to the New York Times. Admission at the door. Seating is limited.
